- Can I add a battery to my existing solar panels?
- Yes. A home battery can usually be added to an existing solar system, either connected to your current inverter or with a hybrid inverter. During the survey we check your inverter, wiring and space for the battery, then recommend a size that suits how you use electricity.
- Is finance available?
- Finance available, subject to status. Ask about monthly payment options when you call or request a quote, and we will explain what is available for your installation before you decide. There is no obligation to go ahead.
- How do I get a quote?

- How much does a home battery cost in Scotland?
- GivEnergy batteries start from £3,200 for 5kWh and £5,500 for 9.5kWh, and the Tesla Powerwall 3 is from £7,995. Prices include 0% VAT until 31 March 2027. Your written quote shows the full price for your home.
- What size battery do I need?
- It depends on how much electricity you use in the evening and overnight, the size of your solar system and your tariff. We look at your bills and usage during the survey and recommend a size that fits.
- Can a battery work without solar panels?
- Yes. A battery can charge from the grid on a cheaper overnight tariff and power your home at busier, more expensive times. Many customers add solar panels later.
- Will a battery keep my power on during a power cut?
- Some batteries can provide backup power during a power cut when fitted with the right equipment. If backup matters to you, tell us during the survey and we will include it in your quote.
